Financial Aid

Every Student who enrolls at The Good Hope School receives some financial assistance, as tuition alone does not cover the full expense of the education. Donations to the school from alumni, parents, and friends help make up the difference.

Thanks to a generous scholarship program established by the Board of Trustees, further financial aid is available to families unable to meet the full tuition costs. Currently over 32% of the student body receives some form of financial aid. Requests for tuition assistance should be made at the time of application for admission. You must complete The Good Hope School's Financial Aid Application.

Scholarships

Merit scholarships may be offered to applicants who meet the following criteria:

•  The student must be a NEW student applying for a position in Upper School, grades 9-12.

•  The student must apply to The Good Hope School by the stipulated deadline for applications and pay the application fee of $50.

•  The student must take either the Secondary Schools Admission Test (SSAT) or the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT) to be considered for the merit scholarship.

•  The student must present two letters of recommendation from current teachers.

•  The student must have an official transcript sent from the current school.

•  The student and a parent or guardian must have a personal interview with an administrator of The Good Hope School.

Those not qualified to apply include currently enrolled students, children of any employee or Board of Trustee members of The Good Hope School.

In order to retain the scholarship each year, the student must maintain no less than a 3.0 average in all academic subjects, have a record of solid citizenship, including no suspensions, and be contributing to the community in at least one extracurricular activity per year.

In order to take the SSAT, the student must register online at: www.ssat.org

The PSAT Test is offered at most High Schools on St. Croix in the fall and spring.
