Dear Good Hope School Parents and Guardians, |
|
We have swiftly sailed through the first quarter of the 2005-2006 school year. Thank you all for your strong support and enthusiasm. As your new head and a new GHS parent, it does seem to me that the bumps have been few and the successes many.
Our Strategic Planning committee has been working hard. You will find enclosed the survey that we would like you to fill out carefully and return. We are asking the Lower School parents to bring their completed survey to their child's conference on November 11, or whenever it is scheduled. Middle and Upper School parents should complete the survey and return them in the in the enclosed self-addressed envelope .
I know how busy we all are, and even so, I respectfully ask you to set aside the 15-30 minutes that it will take you to complete the parent survey. The feedback we receive will be very important in shaping the "big picture road map" for where we are going to be three years from now. Your experiences and opinions will be most helpful if we receive just one survey from every family. On behalf of the Strategic Planning steering committee: Charleen Nelthropp and Charlie Wright - Board of Trustees; Tracy Bingham and Rev. Edward Thompson - Parents; Pedra Chaffers and John Buckley - Faculty; Will Leckie and myself - Administration , we thank you for sharing your thoughts and hopes for The Good Hope School. (P.S. You can find a copy of the survey on the GHS website in "Message from Head" section.)
Many KUDOS and much appreciation goes out to the Parent's Organization. They, which in fact is all of you, have generously provided for some major changes to our grounds. By now, you will have noticed the new pavement on the road to the Campus Center . However, be on the lookout for the landscaping and leveling, which will end the flooding in front of the Dale Pavilion and for the new curbing that will be installed around Leyden Circle . All of the improvements are much needed, so hats off to the Parent's Organization for your generous gifts.
In between the fast pace of the school year and the many surprises that children offer, I am increasingly impressed by the long-standing support and commitment that this wonderful island holds for The Good Hope School. It truly is a privilege for me and my family to begin sinking roots here in St. Croix .
Sincerely,
Michael Mongeau - Head of School
