To
assist our students with the transition between the Primary
Grades and Middle School, our Intermediate Grades (grades 4
through 6) curriculum continues to nurture the individual with
an increased emphasis on becoming a responsible academic student.
Grades 4 and 5 are in separate self-contained classrooms that
promote a sense of community. Language arts, math, science,
and social studies are taught by a homeroom teacher, while classes
in art, computer, music, theater arts and Spanish are taught
by specialists at assigned times. Physical education completes
this curriculum.
Grade 6 students prepare for Middle School by moving between
two homeroom teachers for academic classes in math, English,
Spanish, social studies, and science in the morning, and attending
classes in band, art, choir, theater arts and physical education
in the afternoon.
