Readak will be sending us one of their trained instructors to teach this specialized course at our school. Readak is the United States ' largest and most experienced service of its kind. Thousands of students from a large number of schools around the world have benefited from the program.

The course provides strategies that will make your child a more efficient and effective student. This course is ideal for successful students who wish to refine their talents as they approach the next level of academic challenges. Students who may be struggling or are not satisfied with their first semester performance will also acquire better methods for reading and studying academic material. The course shows students how effective study skills prepares them for all tests, including such standardized tests as the PSAT and SAT. Comprehension and retention of academic material are also primary emphases as are efficient note taking and improved reading. For additional information please visit Readak's web site at www.readak.com .

The course will consist of 12 hours of classroom instruction either before school, after school, or on Saturdays, and will not conflict with the students' regular academic schedule. There is no extra work for students. The goal is for students to apply the skills and strategies on their classroom and home assignments.

Classes will be taught for three weeks starting February 23. The cost of the program will be $360. Readak provides various methods of payment. You may want to consider Readak in your financial planning.

You will receive additional mailings about course registration and class options. If you have specific questions, there will be a special Readak information session on Tuesday, February 2, 2005 at 6:00 p.m.

The Readak program is only offered approximately every three years. Therefore, please give this program your serious consideration and take advantage of this worthwhile opportunity for your child.
